Hamayaki Mori, a selection of different marine tastebites grilled to perfection on a sizzler, is highly recommended.
Stepping into the enclave of Tomo Izakaya reminds one of the personable hospitality that underpins a true blue Japanese culture.
Known for its tapa-style servings, the establishment has now enhanced its repertoire with its creative blend of seafood dishes.
Concocted with only the freshest ingredients from Tokyo’s Tsukiji Fish Market, diners are spoilt for choice at affordable prices.
The exotic experience commenced with tantalizing appetisers that left us craving for more.
This was quickly complemented by a serving of Satsuma Age Mori ($15) that had a texture leaving a lasting impression on the palate.

Versatility arrived in form of Hamayaki Mori ($75); a selection of different marine tastebites grilled to perfection on a sizzler. Its generous portion feeds an entire family with choices to cater to different fancies.

Mix Chan Chan Yaki features a medley of vegetables, squid, scallop, salmon with a delicious home-made sauce made from a blend of 3 different types of miso – shinshu miso (yellow miso), saikio miso (white miso) and aka miso (red miso). This is a popular Hokkaido fisherman dish usually served in hot pot Style, but Tomo Izakaya uses foil served style instead, which makes it easy to serve up 2-3 people.

Other small bites includes Edamame Aglio Oglio Style and Mozzarella Isobe Age (fried marinated mozzarella cheese), highly recommended to pair with sake or beer!
